Configuring your HRIS Integration
After you have connected your HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to AccessOwl, you can adjust several settings to optimize the integration for your team.
For an up-to-date integration list, please visit our Integrations page.
HRIS Settings
AccessOwl imports each employee’s manager information for these key reasons:
- It streamlines access requests and approval workflows.
- It is essential for Access Reviews.
If an employee doesn’t have a manager listed, AccessOwl will treat them as an executive, meaning they won’t need approval for their requests.
You can manually update manager information in AccessOwl at any time.
AccessOwl creates user profiles for employees who don’t already have one. Most users are typically added via integrations like Slack, Google Workspace, or Office365.
If your HR team uses personal emails for new employees:
- Enable this filter to ensure AccessOwl only adds users with emails in your company’s domain.
- Helps maintain an accurate and organized user list.
Set up an HRIS notifications channel by typing
@AccessOwl
in a Slack channel and following the instructions.When activated:
- AccessOwl sends a notification when a new employee is added to HRIS with a future start date.
- Your onboarding team can schedule onboarding and assign access or use templates.
